The Location

Nestled in the lush Southern Zone of Costa Rica, just 10 minutes from the vibrant town of Uvita and some of the best restaurants in the area, Villa Sana Vida offers the perfect balance of jungle serenity and coastal convenience. Set just a minute off the Costanera Highway, the property is easily accessible — though a 4x4 vehicle is recommended, as roads are often unpaved.

Guests enjoy privileged access to the beautiful Ballena Beach. A short drive down the hill and a brief walk brings you to a pristine 3-mile stretch of soft sand, often completely empty. It’s the ideal place to relax, swim, walk, or watch the sun set over the Pacific — all surrounded by the natural beauty of the jungle and the soothing sounds of wildlife.

Villa Sana Vida — the House of Healthy Living — is a luxurious Balinese-style retreat designed to immerse you in nature without sacrificing comfort. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by tropical jungle, the villa combines modern amenities with open-air living for a unique Costa Rican experience.

The main villa features 3 air-conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spacious primary suite includes a king-size bed, a gorgeous stone vanity, and an indoor-outdoor shower surrounded by jungle sounds. The second bedroom has a queen bed and ocean views, while the third offers two twin beds that can be converted to a king.

Connected by an outdoor deck, the attached 2-story casita functions as a private 4th bedroom. On the lower level, you'll find a full master suite with a stone tub and open-air shower. The upper level includes its own kitchen, living and dining area, and a large deck with panoramic ocean views — ideal for extended families or guests seeking privacy.

The entire family really enjoyed our stay. Leslee helped us plan all of our daily adventures and each one was better than the next! Zip lining, ATVs. Snorkeling and Horseback riding. The airport pick up and drop off with Erik was wonderful along with the car rental drop off at the house. I’ve stayed in a lot of AirBnBs this home was so beautiful and the service they provided top notch. The pool and sunset each evening were amazing! You won’t be disappointed!

Honestly, I’m writing this review frantically trying to figure out when I can come back. This was my family’s second trip to Uvita, first stay at this home. It was more than met our expectations. It was clean, beautiful, and central to the activities we planned (with a car. You MUST have a car.) we utilized their driver, and appreciated having the rental car delivered. It was more than worth it after we tried driving from the airport last time. Karol and Kenya also did a perfect job arranging all of our activities. The chefs and massages cannot be beat. I absolutely treasure our time in Uvita, and this home absolutely enhances that experience. ❤️

The house was beautiful!! The views were amazing. The hosts helped us book excursions that were with in 10-15 minutes of the house. Plus, there are some other excursions that are only about an hour away. It’s was an unforgettable experience!! We will definitely be coming back!!

Uvita is nothing short of amazing. The house is beautiful, a little wear and tear but overall a great house. Couple things to note, the sun rises around 5am and it gets bright, so bring a sleep mask if that will bother you. It gets dark early and maps are a little tricky so get comfortable with finding the house before venturing out at night. Having housekeeping was great and all the assistance for excursions, car rentals, and transfers was super helpful. Make sure you go to los laureles. Great food and wonderful people. The ATV tour was really fun, highly recommend the 2 seaters. Definitely recommend close toed water shoes, getting to the beaches in Costa Rica can be a little tricky and they’re great if you go to waterfalls (which you definitely should go to Uvita waterfall and slide down the waterfall!) use google maps, Waze will mislead you. Enjoy this beautiful country and home!

An incredible location. House was beautifully decorated and accommodated 6 adults and 2 children easily. The pool is beautiful, the open kitchen and outdoor dining was fantastic. The beach was wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Uvita and staying here. I was nervous after reading a couple of reviews, but there are a few things people need to understand. This house is in the jungle, off the road, and not downtown by any stretch of the imagination. Because of that you are surrounded by beauty but there are going to be some things that probably won’t happen if you are in downtown USA. These things by NO MEANS ruined our stay. There is only enough water pressure to run one shower at a time, plan accordingly. The power did occasionally flicker, but Cynthia shows you where the breaker box is and all you have to do is flip the switches back on. This solved any problems with power in both houses. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs, the house is surrounded by nature and the sun comes up at 5:30, you will hear birds, monkeys and bugs. It is awesome! The private beach and transfers were amazing! Don’t let a few reviews dissuade you from booking. We will book again.
