The Location

Nestled between Uvita and Ojochal in Costa Rica’s breathtaking Southern Pacific zone, Guacamaya Roja Villa offers a privileged position with panoramic views of both the Pacific Ocean and the lush mountain jungle.

Located just a 3-hour scenic drive from San José International Airport (SJO), this villa is easily accessible via the Costanera Highway followed by a 20-minute drive up the mountain — a 4x4 vehicle is required for this final stretch.

Guests enjoy exclusive access to the pristine Ballena Beach — a spectacular 3-mile stretch of soft golden sand, framed by dense jungle and stunning views of the Tres Hermanas and Ballena rock formations. With very few visitors, this beach feels like your own secret paradise.

Everything about this house, location, host was top notch and exceeded expectations. This doesn’t happen very often. The house is beautifully appointed. Pictures can’t do justice to the views. We were pleasantly surprised at the lack of bugs in this indoor/outdoor house. This guidebook Cynthia provided was super useful . Definitely need the 4-wheel drive.

She personally waited for us to arrive to make sure we found the property easily and took the time to walk us through everything we needed to know, from how the house worked to local excursions and must-see spots in the area. The home itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Cynthia was always available and quick to respond to any questions, making us feel truly cared for. The beach access was a highlight and exceeded all our expectations, it felt like our own slice of paradise. We’re already dreaming about our next visit!

This house is spectacular. The view from the patio is amazing and made for wonderful morning bird watching and also evening card games on the long poolside table. I highly recommend using the airport shuttle service. The driver, Eric is fabulous, and the trip would be extremely hard to do without help. Cynthia was wonderful and on sight whenever we needed her. The team that arranged our excursions were also efficient and responsive. The kitchen was ample sized and nicely outfitted, and we had plenty of towels/blankets, etc. Def need the laundry here - and they supplied wash liquid. Note - This house is not walkable to anything, and we experienced a couple of short and intermittent power outages.

What can I say? What an amazing experience! Don't hesitate to book. Pictures simply don't do the home justice. The views are simply incredible. Surrounded by nature and a wonderful view of the mountains and ocean. Every room has its own bathroom with beautiful showers. The kitchen and outdoor cooking space are perfect. We cooked traditional costa rican dishes every day and the cooking space was amazing. Cynthia was simply superb in her service. She met us at the rental car place when we arrived and took us to the home. While I was checking in she even went to the local fish market and found some fresh fish for us. We ran out of propane and had some issues with the toaster, and she had it all sorted out in less than a day. To top it off the access to the beach was amazing. A quick drive down the road to her property and we had a picture perfect beach to ourselves. If your looking for a luxury stay..look no further!
